La Chapelle, also known in Haitian Creole as Lachapèl, is a commune in Haiti’s Artibonite Department. It is part of the Saint-Marc Arrondissement and is known for its rural communities, farmland, mountain terrain, and connection to Route 11 and Route 115.

History & Heritage

La Chapelle began as a rural military outpost near the Artibonite River. The area later grew around the village known as Quartier de la Chapelle, which officially became a commune on July 3, 1889.
