Cerca-Carvajal, also known in Haitian Creole as Sèka Kavajal, is a rural commune in Haiti’s Centre Department. It is located in the Central Plateau, about 30 kilometers from Hinche, and is known for its mountain terrain, farming communities, and location near the Dominican Republic border.
Cerca-Carvajal was established in 1915 and later became a municipality in 1978. Its name has Spanish roots, reflecting the area’s historical connection to Hispaniola’s border region and earlier Dominican influence before the locality was attached to Haiti.
