Bahon, also known in Haitian Creole as Bawon, is a commune in Haiti’s Nord Department. It is located in the Grande-Rivière-du-Nord Arrondissement along the Grande Rivière du Nord and is known for its mountain setting, rural communities, and agricultural identity.

History & Heritage

Bahon was first established in 1910 under the name Raque-à-Zinga and was connected to Cap-Haïtien by a railway that stopped operating in 1915. By 1932, Bahon was officially recognized as a commune.
