Dondon is a mountain commune in Haiti’s Nord Department. It is located in the Saint-Raphaël Arrondissement, surrounded by the Northern Mountain Range, and is known for its cool climate, caves, farmland, and scenic mountain views.
Dondon was settled in 1698 and is one of the oldest towns in the Nord Department. Its history is connected to TaÃno heritage, French colonial settlement, coffee plantations, maroon resistance, and the Haitian Revolution.
