Desdunes, also known in Haitian Creole as Dedin, is a rural commune in Haiti’s Artibonite Department. It is located in the Artibonite Plain, one of Haiti’s main rice-producing regions.
Desdunes was originally known as Ti Dedin and was once part of the Gonaïves area. It became an independent commune in 1983 after separating from L’Estère. The commune has long been connected to farming, especially rice cultivation.
