Thomonde, also known in Haitian Creole as Tomond or Tomonn, is a commune in Haiti’s Centre Department. It is located in the Hinche Arrondissement in the Central Plateau, near the Haitian–Dominican border, and is known for rolling hills, fertile valleys, and the Thomonde River.

History & Heritage

Thomonde was first connected to Las Cahobas before becoming part of Hinche in 1919. The town was formally founded in 1930 and became a commune in 1940, with a history tied to military posts, agriculture, local administration, and Central Plateau development.
